Check out this new demo playtest preview featuring the Grasslands map from the upcoming Rewilders The Lost Spring developed in Unreal Engine 5. We played the first 30 minutes of gameplay with a RTX 5090 in a 4K monitor (no commentary). This new game is a single player open world action roguelite with souls-lite combat, Pokémon-style creature collection, and Metroidvania-style progression, all set within a Studio Ghibli-inspired world. It's being developed by Herobeat Studios, the makers of Endling: Extinction is Forever, a BAFTA winner. It will remind you of some other games like Ori, Hollow Knight and Hades. *_Description:_* You play as Abi, a long survivor exploring a poisoned world to find her missing family. The game tells an emotionally impactful story about family, friendship, restoration, and resilience, with a visual style heavily inspired by Studio Ghibli. The goal is to restore corrupted biomes and bring life back to the world, one area at a time. *_Gameplay Features:_* Action Roguelite: Each run drops you into a dynamic open world filled with enemies. You use melee and ranged attacks combined with creature abilities. Creature Collection: You collect and bond with the Hântu, reawakened native creatures. They fight alongside you, expand your abilities, and can be leveled up to customize your combat style. Progression: Traversal abilities like a glider, grappling hook, and wall-running offer Metroidvania-style exploration to reach new biomes. Base Building: In your skyship base, you can grow plants from collected seeds and resources to unlock permanent buffs and evolve your Hântu companions for your next run. *_Release Date:_* Early Access coming in 2026 to PC.
