I'm also trying to learn Type B controls here after playing on Type A so I can make some more use of Martial Arts chaining in Samurai. It threw me off a bit and it feels a bit awkward to begin with, but I can see the potential of how strong it could be. At the same time I'm not entirely sure if I wanted to go with that approach for future bosses, as it feels like I spend more time focusing on managing combos and less about the boss fight itself. Which I guess is the optimal playstyle, but I'm not sure if it's the most enjoyable way for me is all. I'll see how other bosses are. The plan is to cover Nioh 3 like I normally would for similar games, doing all bosses no damage and post them along the way. I'll post location guides if I feel they're helpful, but I'll be mostly be focusing on the boss fights. I'll be using a dodge focused approach instead of parrying where I can, as I enjoy the playstyle more, and I've always felt like it's more helpful to show how to handle the attacks reliably from a dodging perspective as a guide, instead of just to parry at the right time. I'll probably be focused more on Ninja style because of that. As this is my first Nioh game, I won't be too familiar with how the overall systems and gameplay works, so any feedback or tips is always welcomed. I'm looking forward to having a new game to play though.
