RESIDENT EVIL 9 REQUIEM New Raccoon Police Station Reveal | Best 2026 Zombie Survival Horror
Today’s PlayStation State of Play 2026 featured a brand new trailer and gameplay footage of Raccoon City and Police Station first look from Resident Evil Requiem. This new footage has been provided by Capcom and edited by us. Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline entry in the legendary survival horror franchise. Developed by Capcom and directed by Koshi Nakanishi (the director of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard), the game serves as a massive event to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary. *_Description:_* Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline entry in the iconic survival horror Resident Evil series. Experience exhilarating, death-defying action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy and spine-tingling survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft in a whole new way as you freely switch between first and third-person perspectives at any time. *_Gameplay Features:_* - The Return to Raccoon City: The trailer confirms that Leon S. Kennedy is returning to the ruins of Raccoon City, 30 years after the original outbreak. Leon is seen walking through the main hall of the Raccoon Police Department (R.P.D.). The building is in ruins, overgrown with vegetation and filled with shadows, but it's a direct callback to Resident Evil 2. This suggests the "Requiem" involves Leon literally facing his past. - Leon is Infected: The biggest bombshell of this trailer is the confirmation that Leon S. Kennedy is infected. We see clear shots of his hand turning a sickly grey/black color, and a mark on his neck that looks like the "Elpis" virus. He seems to be struggling with his sanity and physical strength throughout the footage. - Dual Protagonists: We see more of Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst and the daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak’s Alyssa Ashcroft. The story follows her investigation into mysterious deaths that lead her back to the T-virus origins. - Perspective Swapping: Capcom officially confirmed that players can switch between First-Person (for a more immersive, horror-focused experience) and Third-Person (for more dynamic action) at any time. - Sentient Zombies: The infected in Requiem seem to retain fragments of their humanity. One scene shows a zombie giving a haunting monologue suggesting they are aware of their condition but unable to control it. - Leon’s Combat: Leon is shown using a chainsaw alongside his signature gunplay and spin-kicks, indicating a much more aggressive playstyle compared to Grace’s stealth-heavy segments. We saw Leon using a tomahawk for parrying and finishers, which looks much more brutal than the combat in previous reveals. *_Release Date and Platforms:_* Coming February 27 to PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2.
