Valor Mortis The Orphan Boss Fight in Chapter Chapter 8: Blasphemy (8th Boss). Valor Mortis All Boss Fights Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUmZCI-4odKY The Orphan is the eighth main boss of the game, fought at the end of Chapter 8: Blasphemy. This boss is sort of like the Volunteer enemies, but has largely unique attacks and has two phases. The first phase is in an arena where it walks around slowly and primarily attacks you with its sword. All attacks have pretty obvious tells. Sometimes it will jump toward you if you move too far away, which you can dodge out of the way of. The arena has a bunch of poison gas vents in the floor, which you should try to avoid standing in. Sometimes the boss will disappear and the whole arena will turn red, then its sword will stick out of the ground and move toward you - you should dodge right before it reaches you to avoid this attack. To damage the boss in the first phase, a good method is to use Fire Transmutation, and just constantly keep burning the boss with it and attacking in between to recharge your Nephtoglobin. Between attacks or after jumping, the boss spends quite a bit of time standing around, so you can constantly light it on fire to deal damage. For its second health bar you are dropped to a lower area, and the boss now primarily attacks with swinging its arms and trying to punch you. These combos you should try to parry, as the timing is pretty obvious and allows you to very effectively stagger the boss, just be aware that one of the combos has an unblockable attack in the middle of it. Sometimes it will grab a pipe out of the arena and try to hit you with that, but if you are quick you can light the boss on fire before it actually starts this attack string, which will stop it using the pipe. The other main attack to watch for is that the boss will charge up a green poison ball in its chest, then fire a beam toward you. You can avoid this by just dodging to the side continuously while it is firing the beam until it stops. To damage the boss in the second phase you can do effectively the same as the first, constantly using Fire Transmutation on it. You can more effectively stagger the boss by parrying in this phase, so if you are comfortable doing that, try to parry the melee attacks to get a large amount of damage in from the stagger attack.
