First up is Marvel’s Wolverine, which is currently targeting a 2026 release window. Unlike Spider-Man’s fast-paced, city-swinging action, Wolverine is expected to take a darker and more mature approach that matches Logan’s gritty personality. I take a look into what this means for the tone of the game and why fans should be excited. On top of that, Insomniac is also developing a standalone Venom game featuring Eddie Brock. Reports suggest Anti-Venom will appear, Carnage could be the main villain, and Peter Parker or Miles Morales may even show up in supporting roles. I explore how this could connect directly into Spider-Man 3, which is rumoured to arrive around 2028. The big question is whether Insomniac is slowly building its own Marvel gaming universe, one where Spider-Man, Venom, and Wolverine all exist in the same world. Could this be leading toward a crossover on the scale of the Avengers? Sony has also made it clear they’re doubling down on single player experiences. With God of War Ragnarok, Astro Bot, and upcoming titles like Ghost of Yotei and Saros, PlayStation continues to set the standard for story-driven games. Techland has officially confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast will now launch earlier than expected, moving its global release date to September 18, 2025. This decision came after the game crossed one million pre-orders, and it’s being framed as a reward for fans. On the other hand, Borderlands 4 has launched with mixed reactions. While the gameplay and humour remain true to the franchise, performance issues on PC have frustrated players, with many reporting stutters and crashes even on modern hardware. Steam reviews currently sit at “Mixed.” Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has responded on X (formerly Twitter), but his sarcastic tone has sparked more controversy. Battlefield 6 is set to push the limits of next-gen performance on PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro.
